Custom impact expeditions for companies ready to align their team culture with their environmental and social values. Real partners, measurable outcomes, and no performative shortcuts.
Most corporate team experiences are designed to be comfortable. Ours are designed to be meaningful. There is a difference, and your team will feel it.
Somos Impact Travel builds custom expeditions for companies with environmental or impact-oriented cultures. We connect your team directly with grassroots organizations doing long-term conservation and community development work across Latin America.
Working alongside conservation leaders in a remote field environment surfaces leadership, builds trust, and strengthens cohesion.
The work is real, our partners are local experts, and the outcomes are measurable. Somos handles every logistical detail from the moment your team lands to the moment they depart.
Research shows that employees who participate in their company’s purpose-driven programs are more satisfied, more loyal, and more engaged at work.
Employees who share your company’s values stay longer when they can see those values in action.
A Somos expedition puts your values into action. Your team spends a week living them alongside the people who have built conservation programs from the ground up.
The people your team works alongside in the field are some of the most effective problem solvers you will encounter anywhere. Their solutions are simple, low-cost, and outside the frame of reference of anyone trained in a corporate environment.
Employees show up differently when they know their company puts its values into action. What else comes home with them?
Hands-on participation in community-led conservation, reforestation, or social impact projects. The work is physical, documented, and directly tied to your CSR objectives.
All ground transportation, accommodation, meals as specified, bilingual guides, and 24/7 in-country support. Your team shows up. We handle the rest.
Facilitated sessions each evening to connect the day's fieldwork to your company's values and team culture. This is where the cohesion compounds.
Trees planted, project hours logged, communities reached, and partner organization summaries provided for CSR reporting and internal communications.
Real moments, real partners, real work. The content your team generates on this expedition is worth more than anything a photographer on a staged retreat could produce.
Briefing materials, partner organization background, and post-trip frameworks to bring the experience back into your workplace culture.

Corporate expeditions can also be built around Peru’s Amazon conservation programs, Belize marine conservation, or dual-country itineraries. Contact us to discuss what fits your team.
A retreat is designed around your team's comfort. This expedition is designed around your team's growth. The difference is the work. When your team spends three days doing real conservation fieldwork alongside community leaders who have built these programs from the ground up, the team development is not a workshop exercise. It is a byproduct of doing something that actually matters. That distinction shows up in the outcomes.
Documented, specific, reportable outcomes: trees planted, project hours completed, partner organizations supported, communities reached. Somos provides a post-expedition impact summary that your communications or sustainability team can use directly. The authentic content your team creates on the ground, whether photos, journal entries, or video, is also yours to use for internal and external stakeholder communications.
Yes, and we recommend it. During the discovery call, we walk through your company's values and identify where they connect to the work of our partner organizations. The evening debrief sessions throughout the expedition are structured around those connections. Recent clients have used this framework to align the expedition directly with their published ESG commitments and employee development goals.
Corporate expeditions typically run with 8 to 20 participants. Larger groups can be accommodated with advance planning. We can also structure programs for leadership teams only, all-hands groups, or specific departments. Group composition and dynamics are something we discuss in the planning call.
We recommend a minimum of 60 days for a standard expedition. For larger groups, custom destinations, or programs that include Peru or multi-country itineraries, 90 to 120 days gives us the best flexibility for partner coordination and logistics. That said, contact us regardless of your timeline and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
Yes. Somos has operated in Guatemala and across Latin America for 10+ years with 1,000+ travelers and zero safety incidents. All programs include professional bilingual guides certified in CPR and first aid, vetted transportation partners, comprehensive medical kits, 24/7 in-country emergency support, and detailed emergency action plans for every location we operate in. Full safety documentation is available for your legal or risk management team on request.
Corporate expedition pricing is custom based on group size, destination, duration, and scope. We do not publish a rate card because every program is built specifically for the group. Contact us and we will provide a full proposal after a 30-minute discovery call with Shad.
Every Somos expedition builds trust, strengthens cohesion, and supports long-term impact across Guatemala and Latin America. Let us design something that reflects what your company stands for.
