Guatemala
This 9-day expedition moves high school groups through colonial Antigua and the volcanic basin of Lake Atitlan, anchoring in Tzununa and the Maya town of San Juan La Laguna. Students use Spanish daily in coffee fields, weaving cooperatives, and homestays, working alongside Wellkind Guatemala and the Maya farmers of Quixaya.

Students trace women’s resistance in Antigua, explore living landscapes at Pacaya and Iximché, and meet the women behind Lake Atitlán’s weaving cooperatives, water programs, and reforestation nurseries.

This immersion moves a high school group through two working research stations in Belize, from the cloud-covered ridgelines of the Maya Mountains to a small island in South Water Caye Marine Reserve. Students follow water from rainforest headwaters to the reef, learning how each ecosystem depends on the next.

Students move between two working coastlines in Belize’s, spending three days in a fishing village on Corozal Bay before crossing to an island economy built on reef tourism. Along the way they plant mangroves, monitor manatees with Wildtracks rangers, and snorkel the coral gardens of Hol Chan Marine Reserve.
